As I transition on from my role at Micro Drip to another ‘in the works’ farming project, you will start seeing more of the amazing little world of organic farming. I might also be tracking my progress during the setting up a one-of-a-kind organic farm here in Pakistan. Should I keep it on GoodFourLife or start a new blog? Any thoughts on organic in general?

Just watching the amazing ‘I met the Walrus’ video on Nick’s blog. Amazing stuff:

Comment by mak3mirz October 30, 2009 @ 7:37 pmI had the chance to check out Nick’s website and all I can say is “Wow!” What a beautiful collection of projects and a great way to bring them all together. I really like this idea and I might just do it under the GoodFourLife label rather than having it under majidmirza.com (I do own the domain though!)
Thanks for the tips Renj.
Comment by mak3mirz October 30, 2009 @ 7:35 pmHey Majid, I just submitted a comment, but for some reason, it never showed up… so here I am again!
First off, hope that things are going well in Pakistan! As for your upcoming project, if you ask me, I would recommend that you start another blog and at the same time, create a personal website that documents all of the cool projects (both past, present and upcoming) that you’re involved with. Much in the same way that Nick has set up his website http://www.nickpetten.com/Projects.html
You could certainly have different URL’s for each project that you’re working (worked) on, and that way, it will be a good snapshot into the work that you’re doing. Definitely keep it up!
Peace bro,

Hey Majid, glad to hear that another project is in the works! If you ask me, I would recommend that you create another blog for your upcoming project, and at the same time, create a personal website as well (perhaps http://www.majidmirza.com) to document all of the projects that you’re working on since Im sure that there will be many more interesting projects coming your way. Much in the same way that Nick has set up his website, http://www.nickpetten.com/Projects.html

Makes sense JaymeS. I’ll keep the same G4L concept but try to change the interface a bit so that I can showcase various different projects with their associated videos. Thanks for the feedback!
Comment by mak3mirz October 30, 2009 @ 9:14 amI read your blog to follow your journey, so it really doesn’t matter that you are changing focus. Actually, it makes it more interesting. You just have to get the tags working properly. What changing a blog does, is kill the present one; making it something we throw out of our google reader list. Still, if you do decide to change, please let us know.
Comment by lilalia October 30, 2009 @ 7:20 amEureka Danny! Mel’s comments made me get the same idea. You guys are too good. So G4L would become something like a portal showcasing various different projects, each with their own set of videos. I’m soooo excited!
Comment by mak3mirz October 30, 2009 @ 6:59 amGood thoughts Mel. If I understand correctly I should start a fresh, new blog but keep the same web address. Hmm… that makes me think. What if I kept the G4L concept and made various projects/positions as my subsidiary pages. So people can go to G4L and click on any project/position from the past. That’s brilliant! You guys are ammmmazing.
Comment by mak3mirz October 30, 2009 @ 6:58 amhey majid hows it going?….i think you should start an new one, sort of like a cover page or table of contents. i’m sure this new project wont be your last so you can use the new page as a portal to your new and past endeavors. As for the organic debate, unfortunately for me a lot of it here in north america is a cash grab from consumers…so it is of my opinion that the best thing we can do for our environment is be an educated consumer…which will lead us to eat what is in season and most of all eat whats local as much as possible…and if happens to be truly organic then that’s a plus and oh….stop buying figi bottled water!!!!.
by the way when are you headed back to the kanata?
Comment by Danial October 30, 2009 @ 5:09 amKeep it here! Just change the tag line… you risk reader drop off if you switch.
Comment by Jayme October 29, 2009 @ 11:53 pmhummm, you know what, my opinion is that you should start another one and link it to this one. You can start a new campaign to attract viewers, it will separate the projects and maybe allow you to take more ownership for the new project. I don’t know if the new one is for a completely separate company (anything to do with microdrip at all?) or not but keep me posted! UPDATE ME KID!
HUGS!!!
